Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan is a social welfare scheme launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Government of India in February 2019 for poor labourers in the unorganised sector from minimum 18 years of age to maximum 40 years. According to government figures, about 42 crore people in India are associated with the unorganized sector. These people have a chance to take advantage of this scheme.

Benifits: The primary goal of the PMSYM Yojana is to give unorganized sector workers financial support by providing a pension of Rs. 3,000 upon reaching 60 years of age. (i) Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan is a government scheme meant for old age protection and social security of Unorganized workers.

Eligibility:

All the candidates who wants to make registration or wants to apply for the PMSYM scheme must check the eligibility first. The candidates must fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria to become eligible for PM Shram Yogi Maan-dhan Yojana (PM-SYM):-

A) All the beneficiaries must belong to 18 to 40 years of age.

B) The income of the candidate must be less than Rs. 15,000 per month and must be working in unorganized sector.

C) He / She must not be an income tax payer.

D) Applicants must not be engaged in organized sector with membership of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) / National Pension Scheme (NPS) / Employees State Insurance Corp (ESIC).

E) Applicant must have a savings bank account.

F) He / She should possess Aadhar number.

(ii) National Pension Scheme for Traders:

National Pension Scheme for Traders is a government scheme meant for old age protection and social security of Shopkeeper’s, Retail traders and Self Employed persons.

Eligibility details:

• The candidate has to be employed in the unorganized sector.
• Employees in the unorganised sector should not make more than Rs 15,000 per month.
• The applicant should be between the ages of 18 and 40.
• The main condition is that you cannot file taxes or pay income taxes.
• The qualified individual shouldn't be covered by NPS, ESIC, or EPFO.
• The subscriber must have both an Aadhaar number and a mobile phone (Aadhaar Card).
• Additionally, a savings bank account is required for the program.

Salient Features of PM Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana (PM-SYM):

The important features and highlights of this PM Shram Yogi Mandhan Yojana are as follows:-

• Now each of the unorganized sector workers will get minimum assured pension amount of Rs. 3000 per month.
• For availing PMSYMY benefits, the salary of the person must not exceed Rs. 15000 per month.
• To avail benefits under PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana 2020, each of the worker must make a contribution of Rs. 55 to Rs. 200 per month depending on their age.
• All the applicants would get this amount after they attain the age of retirement i.e 60 years.
• Family Pension: During the receipt of pension, if the subscriber dies, then the spouse of beneficiary shall be entitled to receive 50% of the pension received by the beneficiary as family pension. Family pension is applicable only to spouse.
